Club Management Scholarship at University College Cork 2022/23

The Club Management Scholarship was created by the Department of Management and Marketing (M&M), Cork University Business School (CUBS), University College Cork (UCC), in conjunction together with the 30 through the 30 Club for women who are in high-level Project Management or HR roles.


The Club Management Scholarship officially launched in January of 2015 and aimed to achieve better gender equality across all levels of the most prestigious Irish enterprises. Read on to learn more about this Club Management Scholarship, its value, eligibility, and application procedure.


University College Cork:


 National University of Ireland, Cork is a constituent college part of the National University of Ireland and is located in Cork. It was founded in 1845 and was an individual of the three Queen’s Colleges located in Belfast, Cork, and Galway.


The university changed its name to University College, Cork, under the Irish Universities Act of 1908. The Universities Act 1997 renamed University College Cork the National University of Ireland, Cork. A ministerial order of 1998 renamed the institution University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Cork; however, it is still widely known as University College Cork.


However, in addition to other awards and rankings among other awards rankings, the University College Cork was named the Irish University of the Year by The Sunday Times on five occasions, most recently in 2017. The school was also named the best-performing college by the U-Multirank, a European Commission-funded system based on having the most quantity of “A” scores (21 out of 28 measures) in a field comprising 1200 universities that participate.


The University College Cork also became the first college to attain an ISO 50001 standard in energy management in the year 2011. The college is one of Ireland’s top research institutions and has one of the highest research revenues in the country.


In 2016 the university received research funding above EUR96 million, a 21% increase over five years. It was a record number for the institution. In the past, University College Cork had seven faculties: Arts and Celtic Studies, Commerce, Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Law and Medicine, and Science. From 2005 to 2006, the university was transformed from seven faculties into four colleges: Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Science; Business and Law; Medicine and Health and Science, Engineering and Food Science.


In the 2009-2012 University College Cork Strategy, the university set out to increase the quality of research and innovation. The college was rated among the top 3percent of universities globally in research.


The University College Cork’s research strategy called for the creation of Centers of Excellence for world-class research where researchers and research teams will have the freedom and the ability to explore their research areas.


Additionally, research centers within University College Cork cover a variety of fields, including Nanoelectronics in conjunction with Tyndall Institute; Nanoelectronics with Tyndall Institute; Food and Health through Food and Health with Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, NutraMara, Food for Health Ireland Research Centre and Cereal Science Cork.


Worth of Club Management Scholarship


The Club Management Scholarship consists of a tuition fee of 100% regardless of which one of the three programs the successful candidate chooses to pursue.


Eligibility for Club Management Scholarship


  • To be eligible for this scholarship Club Management Scholarship, the female applicant must meet the entry requirements and other requirements for the appropriate program of study. They must apply to the Postgraduate Applications Centre by the deadline for the scholarship.
  • It would help if you satisfied all the entry criteria to the program, as determined from your application at the Postgraduate Applications Centre.
  • A theatre that wants to be a recipient of the award must submit the following information to [email protected] for the attention of the department head – Prof. Anthony McDonnell, including an application letter that provides the reason why the candidate is worthy of the award (word limit of 1000 words) explaining how they will use the MSc Human Resource Management, Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, or Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management can help you achieve your personal goals in your career and help you develop as a leader for an environmentally sustainable future.
